DR 2: Off the record give a release date

Capcom Entertainment has today revealed the official release date for the forthcoming Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record sees Frank West return for another zombie bashing.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is a different version of the popular DR2, casting Frank West in the lead role once again. Featuring new combo weapons, new areas, new bosses, and Frank’s inimitable personality and style (and his awesome camera skills).
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC simultaneously from 14th October 2011, here hoping its just as good as DR1 and DR2 put together, check out the trailer below for some hilarious zombie bashing.

Digital spy recently had a poll going throughout Sonics birthday week to see which games were is most popular and which games were not.
After thousands of responses, there was a clear favourite with 33.1% of the vote the 1992 Sega Mega Drive classic Sonic the Hedgehog 2 but here are the rest of the results.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2: 33.1%
Sonic the Hedgehog: 26.9%
Sonic 3 & Knuckles (lock-on): 10.4%
Sonic the Hedgehog 3: 5.3%
Sonic & Knuckles: 5.1%

Crytek thinking about Timesplitters

Crytek's co-founder has told NowGamer the company is still deciding what to do with their Timesplitters series.
Timesplittlers 4 was recently rumoured to be in development for next-gen hardware but a few days later Crytek denied having access to the tech, but also didn't mention anything about Timesplitters.
So is it being worked and developed on in the background or is this just getting every Timesplitters hopes up again, I still fire up the PS2 to play a round or two on Future Perfect now and again.

Skyrim is over 100+ hours

Today after looking over the internet many websites have been given an estimation of just how much time players will get to enjoy while playing Skyrim.
The games producer revealed that while the main story lines plot is a decent 20-30 hours to complete, of course this is only the main story and included not side quests and exploring the wonderful world bethsda has created.
Sounds like I will be more on this than I was Oblivion... good bye social life again haha

Black Eyed Pea's dance game annouced

After the success of Michael Jackson The Experience released for the Wii and then late the KINECT, Ubisoft has decided to start expanding its 'The Experience' franchise with The Black Eyed Peas Experience, which will feature the same all-singing, all-dancing gameplay as Jacko's game but with The Black Eyed Peas' music.

Check out the announcement trailer below then prepare for what will likely be the beginning of more 'The Experience' games with The Black Eyed Peas Experience, which is 'coming soon' on Kinect apparently.
I do think these Dancing games are fun at party's but I'm starting to get the feeling we may have a mad flood of them

Sonic was the 'Call of Duty' of its day

Sonic The Hedgehog, who celebrated his 20th birthday earlier this week, "was the Call of Duty of its day," SEGA West CEO Mike Hayes has suggested, claiming that it was the game every "cool gamer was playing"."When Sonic was launched 20 years ago, it was the Call of Duty of its day," said Hayes speaking to London newspaper Metro earlier this week. "It was what the cool gamer was playing. It was fast, it was anarchic, it was irreverent, it was different."There's no doubt the modern core gamer is looking for a great deal of realism in terms of the graphics, the performance and the theme," he continued, "which is why war games in particular have done very, very well.
"But Mario and Sonic are just as big and relative to Call of Duty. They're just spread over more games or, in the case of Mario, restricted to just one or two formats."20 years ago, of course, Mario and Sonic were the two biggest names in the industry, with both Nintendo and SEGA using the mascots to help shift their respective consoles. These days, however, guns seem more favourable, with Activision's Call of Duty series having established itself as the most important title in the market. We'll soon find out whether Sonic still has what it takes to compete in the current market: both Sonic Generations and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are due to go on sale this November.Sonic The Hedgehog celebrated his 20th Anniversary on Thursday. A special Summer of Sonic event is taking place in London today to commemorate the mascot's history.
The next Sonic game, Sonic Generations, launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 3DS this November. A playable demo is on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network now

Happy 20th Birthday Sonic!!

On June 23, 1991 (my year of birth!) Sonic the Hedgehog first appeared on the SEGA Megadrive (my first game and console when i was 4!) and since then the little blue hedgehog has gone to see over 70 million games across more then 130 different consoles from the Megadrive to Gameboy Advance to PS3.
The games had varying degrees of the quality over the years as most gamers know (Sonic The Hedgehog on PS3 and 360 5 years ago!) but many fans have stood by him and there's always something exciting about firing up a new sonic game and trying to spin dash through the level.

So Happy Birthday Sonic youre finally 20, today is about you and time to forget all his friends like Big the Cat and Cream, of course Tails and Knuckles are cool haha

Gears of War 3 - Horde 2.0

Everyone remembers the Gears of War 2 horde mode many games have tried to expand on this idea with updates and new modes; Crackdown, Call Of Duty, Halo just to name a few.
However nothing feels as good as Gears Horde mode which just keeps gamers coming back for more but that's not the end, see the video below to see what horde mode in Gears 3 is going to be like...

Thank VE3TRO for the brilliant HD quality, this video is also now available on the Xbox Live market place for download.

Rise of Nightmares New Trailer

So some of you may have heard about SEGA's new horror game called Rise of Nightmares, it is going to be the first horror game for the 360's KINECT and I must admit looks dam scary.
I myself am looking forward to this one as it looks like they are basing it a lot on Condemned which was one of SEGA's first next gen title way back in 2005 (On a side note if you have never played Condemned and want a good scare be sure to check it out)

Anyway here's the trailer its time to pull those curtains and switch off the lights!

Activision to make survival horror games?

The first ever private game company Activision has been around since the Atari 2600 days however the company has never dived deep into the survival horror genre, that may about to change though.
Activision which is mostly known for their Call Of Duty games have registered a few new domain names that point towards them making a survival horror game.
See what you think, here are the domain names that have been registered by the company:

- ActivisionAdventureGames.com
- ActivisionSurvivalGames.com
- BigGameHunterHuntingParty.com
- SurvivalShadowsofKatmai.com
- SurvivalVideoGame.com
- TopShotSport.com

GTA V heading to Wii U?

Earlier today I posted about GTA V nearly being complete and being highly likely for a 2012 release, what I didn't think I would be posting is this.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has made some interesting comments on the possibility of Rockstars's biggest titles coming to Nintendo's new console the Wii U.
Talking to Forbes (a online blog), Zelnick was asked the simple questions if rockstar titles (and other take-two titles) would be arriving on the Wii U at release he answered with "We'll see. We are looking at it seriously and at the relationship with Nintendo"

This isnt the first time a GTA title has been on a Nintendo- remember the well received Chinatown wars on the DS? If this is all true it seems to fit in with the launch of GTA and the Wii U in 2012... I guess time will tell...

GTA V is "well underway"

A source who is close to Rockstar Games has told Gamespot that development on GTA 5 is "well underway", with finishing touches like mini-games being finished off the same source also stated that a 2012 release is on the cards.
The source however didnt reveal any details like the addition of location, characters and so on the main rumour at the moment is it could be set in Los Angeles and is being developed under the codename "Rush".
Other gamers however think the next instalment of the game will be set in Miami inspired Vice City.
Where do you think it will be and here's fingers crossed to a 2012 release.

SEGA Megadrive hacked??

Everyone seems to be hacking into the latest console nowadays and despite it being around 15 years since the console was last sold at retail the SEGA Megadrive has been the latest console hack.
This of course is not true and nonsense resulting from an error on the part of American news channel CBS (see image below)

Of course you have more than likely heard by now that SEGA's website has been hacked (I will be updating this story when I have more information) but it seems someone at CBS got a little confused and thought it was SEGA's 16 bit console.
What I want to know is who made this mistake and why did they choose the Megadrive? What about showing the Dreamcast some news spotlight huh?

Halo Anniversary gets KINECT support

Like my previous post this is to do with another anniversary matter, one of the new announced halo games at this years E3 was Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary (but you knew that already) something you may not know is it is getting KINECT support.

In an interview with Gamespot corporate Vice Presidents of MS game studios (Phil Spencer) has confirmed that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will have KINECT support, what this support is no one knows for now, hit the link above for more details and the full interview.

Sonic's 20th Anniversary figure

Im a big fan of Sonic as are a lot of gamers out there and the blue hedgehog is celebrating his big 20th this year.
To help celebrate SEGA have released this limited edition figurine.

Want one? (I certainly do) well there are only a 1000 being made and SEGA have confirmed they wont be selling them anywhere, the only way to get your hands on one is through certain contests and promotions in the near future (All Sonic related of course).
Then again im sure if you wait a few months a few will start to appear on Ebay... with a huge price tag attached

New PS3 Model on the way?

Some of you may not know that first rumours of a new "CECH-3000" model for the playstation 3 surfaced on the internet around a month ago. Now a retailer, claiming to have received a briefing of the new model from Sony has decided to pass the details on.

The new PS3 Model is an updated 320 gigabyte system, it cuts the power consumption by 30W compared to the older model and also cuts weight from 3kg to 2.6kg.
There are also some external changes to the power and eject buttons along with the removal of the LED lamps (not sure if this is a good thing) one good thing is that the price will be the same as the old models.
The new model will go on stock once retailers run out of the old one so if you're thinking of getting a PS3 you may want to hold off for a while

3 reasons you will love the new Tomb Raider

So E3 has been and gone and with it came the new Tomb Raider trailer (if you haven't seen it yet and been living under a rock I suggest you hit the play button above haha)
I have always found the tomb raider series to be a lot like the Sonic series even though Lara has been through some terrible times (Angel of Darkness) her fans have stuck by her due to those original PS1 classics.
And here are 3 reasons why I think Tomb Raider fans (Like myself) will love the new Tomb Raider.

1. Its gone down a new path - Remember the old PS1 games? there was always a bright jungle level but in the new series it looks like its turning more into a survival horror, is this a good thing though?
2. The Graphics look amazing - After looking through gameplay videos and other interviews this is looking like one of the best tomb raider games to date and because of the graphics it really makes you feel like youre in Lara's world, a lot like Bioshock done to Rapture.
3. Its Brutal - Im thinking of putting money on it that this tomb raider is going to be the first 18 rating in the series, which I feel is more of a good thing if the tomb raider games where all 18 who knows what we would have found by now in those tombs instead of just the same tiger over and over again...

Edit: Thanks ZomB3000 for letting me know I spelt Lara wrong :)

Walking Dead stumbling to XBLA?

Based upon both the fantastic graphic novel and new hit TV series, The Walking Dead is set to come to the Xbox Live Arcade sometime this winter, it will have an original story following a new character named Lee Everett.
The arcade game will pick up the action with Everett as he escapes from his prison escort after it's hit by a car and rolls into a ditch. Now a free man, Everett finds himself trying to leave Atlanta as the zombie hordes bear down upon him and a little seven-year old girl named Clementine who looks to him for protection. (Anyone get the feeling someone had just been playing Dead Rising 2 when playing this?)

Familiar faces like Lilly from the books will also make an appearance, as will locations like Herschel's farm.
The Walking Dead game hopes to “push the boundaries of what's been done by Telltale in the past”, says Telltale's Kevin Boyle, however as of now there are no screenshots or gameplay on offer of the game though it has been confirmed it will be a 3D adventure game and will be episodic.

Looking froward to it or just feel its going to be another zombie bashing game?
I myself loved the TV show but I have a feeling that the game just wont be as good... fingers crossed though.
